Like many of the paths through our green spaces the path between Lower Cock Road and Weston's Way has become narrower and narrower over the years. It was around half of its width and becoming unusable to for prams and push chairs. Jimmy and myself spent around 90 minutes widening and cutting back the path. Jimmy worked beyond hard and dug out barrow load after barrow load of mud. It was a fantastic effort from him with a minor assist from myself. There is still more to be done. If you value this type of pathway improvement please contact us if you are willing to volunteer a little time or donate via our Just Giving page to fund better tools to get more done with the time we can spare.

We came back for a second time to clear even more rubbish and fly tipping between Wedmore Close and the Woodstock Play Area. We had lots of new people join our community project on our forth event! Paul, Chris, Barry and Taylin joined us for the first time. The ever present Nick the litter gathering machine returned. We were joined by our first family - James, Ebony, Dillon, Ollie and Violet. It was a fantastic turnout. It was a great atmosphere and we achieved so much together working all the way up to Somerton Close and Langford Way.

Our council has agreed to collect all the rubbish and without them we couldn't make this impact. Thank you!

Building on the litter pick from Weston's Way to Wedmore Close, our efforts continued towards the cross road by the Woodstock Play Area. Years of rubbish was removed! It was a fine effort in the rain from Jimmy, Nat, Jon and Nick. Thank you for all your hard work!

A TV, fake grass, metal, a wheel, seemingly endless embedded litter and old bits of discarded walls and fences were pulled from the undergrowth. Our council has agreed to collect all the rubbish and without them we couldn't make this impact. Thank you!

Building on the litter pick of Weston's Way, our efforts continued from The Plough pub with the aim of getting to the Woodstock Play Area. We failed! Despite a team of 8, we only got half way. Completing this pick is our now next event. An entire Mazda 2 was filled to the roof with litter! We also removed some fly tipping and sorted as much of the recyclables as possible. In a massive solo effort, Jimmy dug mud and leaves from the paths to make them easier for prams and buggies to navigate. A fine effort! A massive thank you to the founding 3 of Jon, Nat and Jimmy who were joined by Nick, Bren, Andy, Harvey and Tiz. It was a great team effort and I think we made our little part of world a nicer place to live. Thank you!

A team of 3 spent a little over 1 hour to remove the vast majority of litter from Weston's Way Playing Fields (aka Tesco Field). It was a great team effort to not only litter pick the paths and grass, but the brambles and bushes too. There are still some thickets that need more work, but that is for another day. A massive thank you to Jimmy and Nat for all their hard work and perseverance!

Removal of fly tipping and fallen trees from an entrance to Cock Road Ridge. 10 hours and 6 tip runs! The path was extremely boggy, so about 500kg of bark was laid to form a solid new path all year round. Sadly not shown, the tree next to the path was dead and thick branches had broken off and were hung up in other trees. The tree was felled, chopped up and cleared to one side. This took a team of 3 a couple of hours to do and has removed the risk of this coming down onto someone. This is now a clean, safe and easily accessible cut through to the leisure complex at Longwell Green.

I'm all for taking pride in where we live, our country and our flag. This is not how you show pride in the latter. It's just vandalism. There were many benches, signs and trees sprayed. If you want to see our flag flying, erect a flag pole and fly the Cross of St. George or The Union Flag high and proudly! Thank you to Scrubb Graffiti Remover for the assist on this one.

The path and steps of Ashford Way had become overgrown. I was a surprisingly big job! 4 green bins, 10 rubble sacks of green waste and one of litter. It took 16 hours to do! It was a great community effort - neighbours and a father and his sons working together to make a meaningful difference.
