Why come together?
South Gloucestershire Council could be doing a better job at keeping our streets and public spaces clean and well maintained.
Rather than getting caught up in feeling frustrated or annoyed we can do something about it ourselves.
When a community shares a purpose they can make meaningful change.
Who is it for?
Those who want to make their area a nicer place to live for themselves, friends and family.
People who believe community spirit matters and want to help build it.
You don't need to be young, big, strong or super fit. This isn't the Royal Marines! You just need a willingness to contribute.
Those who can spare 1-2 hours a month.
What is it working to achieve?
Reduce the litter on our streets and green spaces;
Keep our footpaths paths tidy and usable for all;
Keep the entrances to our green spaces accessible;
Prevent the paths running through our green spaces from becoming overgrown and unusable.
Building a relationship with our council so our combined resources can have more impact.
What is it not?
Somewhere to complain. This is about putting aside understandable feelings of disappointment in our council and how it is unfair that community action is needed.
Somewhere to ask others to take on projects or work when you aren't willing to get involved in.
How can you get involved?
Volunteer your time. An hour here and a couple of hours there really add up. It doesn't need to be a big time commitment.
Spread the word to like minded people. More people = more manpower & skills = more impact.
Donate to fund the equipment needed to carry out this work. This a great way to still support your community if you are money rich and time poor.
